From the West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser dated Friday 2nd March 1855 :-
MORE POULTRY STEALING On Saturday night last, some daring thieves entered the farm yard of Mr. JAS. HOTTEN, of Sufree, in the parish of Probus, and carried off all his stock of Dorking breed to the number of twenty three, and several Pigeons. When the thieves last visited Mr. Hotten, they succeeded in carrying off five fat geese.
