David Curtis served his National Service at Aldershot which was only a short distance from the Knight’s home at 67 Twelve Acre Crescent so he could catch the bus and drop in for tea when he got fed up with Army rations.
Pictured here with Rosemary and Malcolm Knight with their grandfather Fred Hotten who was David’s uncle. These two pictures were probably taken in 1956. Fred’s second wife Emily being absent from the photograph is one clue; she died in the Spring of 1956.
