Kenneth Coleman

RAF Service

Find Ken in the family tree
Ken Coleman spent much of his RAF service in North Africa. In 1968, the 50th Anniversary of the RAF’s foundation, he was chosen to represent his squadron at a celebration in the Middle East. Due to the stupidity of the station commander at RAF Akrotiri his Comet IV of Transport Command was not allowed to fly civilians beyond Cyprus and Ken never did reach the intended destination and participate in the anniversary celebrations. He was returned to the UK in an RAF Argosy freighter.
