Markoe Slayer Indicted.

Thomas W. Simpkin, slayer of Dr. James Wright Markoe, was indicted yesterday for murder in the first degree. He will be arraigned today before Judge Joseph F. Mulqueen in General Sessions. A commission to inquire into Simpkin’s mental state will be asked, and efforts will be made to have him sent to Matteawan.

Indictments charging assault in the first and second degree were also found against Simpkin, based on the slight wound suffered by Dr. George E. Brewer, who grappled with the slayer after he had shot at Dr. Markoe.
