Liskeard Workhouse & Poor Law Union

The union formed in 1837 and comprises the districts of Boconnoc, Callington, St. Lansallos, Lanteglos, Linkinhorne, Liskeard Borough & Parish, East Looe, St.Martin’s by Looe, Menheniot, Morval, St.Neot, Pelynt, St.Pinnock, Southill, Talland and St.Veep.

The Board and Guardians meet on alternate Saturdays at 1.30pm at the Boardroom, Workhouse.
The population of the union in 1891 was 26,448, area 107,441 acres and the rateable value in 1897 £123,133.
