Holiday in Barry, South Wales
Velmead School seemed to have a one track mind when it came
to organised holidays, Barry Island or nowhere. Kirsty went there and has
recently reported it to be fantastic! Later Iain retraced her steps. Unlike his sister,
Iain
took a camera, a manual one and perhaps not the best thing for a ten year old.
Inevitably the flash occasionally failed to go off and someone should have
advised him to take more pictures with a human interest. Photos of distant
hills, large grey expanses of water and ducks on the river have no greater
interest now than they did 25 years ago. On the other hand, that wasnt a very
good excuse for none of his negatives to get printed. So heres a small
selection that may make amends for the omission. Sorry Iain, better late than never.
Outside Velmead School a busload of children await the off.
The suspension bridge over the River Severn near Chepstow.
Caerphilly Castle.
It looks a bleak industrial landscape but if the children like it, who are we to argue?
These photographs are displayed in the as shot sequence.
