The marriage of Avril Byrne

Our next-door neighbour

Early in 1958 Malcolm Knight sold his Hornby ‘O’ gauge train set and spent the money on a camera because he didn’t think the family Box Brownie was good enough. He then proceeded to snap away at everything and developed the films with equipment passed on to him by one of his father’s friends. It soon became apparent why the equipment had been given away, it produced unevenly developed negatives. This film was the 4th Malcolm developed and fortunately the problem is mainly confined to the extreme edge of the pictures and can be trimmed off. The pictures were rapidly developed and sold for a shilling a print at the reception held at 69 Twelve Acre Crescent.
