It looks like only eight candles on the cake but the original scans reveal a ninth almost hidden; but the killer fact is that these photographs were taken on a Pentax SLR bought at the end of 1980 and the negatives were home processed. They are clearly better than the photographs taken at earlier birthdays, too many of those ‘factory processed’ films have the most horrible colour cast which has proved near impossible to entirely eradicate for use on these pages.
