L. R. KNIGHT, ESQ, G.I. MECH. E.
14 SECOND AVENUE,
PORTERFIELD,
LEA BRIDGE ROAD,
LEYTON, E.10.

Dear Mr. Knight,

I have been informed by the Secretary of the Institution, Dr. Guy, that you have been elected a member of the London Graduates’ Section which includes both Students and Graduates. May I congratulate you on behalf of the Committee and trust that your entry to the Institution will form an excellent stepping stone in your career as an engineer.

A card showing the meetings of the Section for the current Session is enclosed from which you will see that papers are presented by Graduates and students who are members of the Section. These meetings are of an informal nature and all members of the Section are invited. The presentation of the papers is generally followed by an informal discussion in which all attending are invited to join. A member may introduce a friend at meetings but not on visits.

There are social activities arranged by the Committee from time to time to promote good fellowship amongst the members and you will receive particulars of such events.

The Library and Reading Room will be open until 7 p.m. during meetings of the Section apart from normal hours. It is hoped you will be able to take advantage of its many facilities in the future and Mr. stock, the Librarian, is always very pleased to help you in chosing (sic) and finding reading matter in which you are interested.

Finally, may I take this opportunity of welcoming you, on behalf of the Committee, to all our activities to which it is hoped you will give your full support.

Yours sincerely,
J. Brian Birks
Hon. Secretary,
London Graduates’ Section.
