In 1960 we spent a fortnight in Dymchurch in a house just behind the sea wall, as shown in two of the photographs immediately below. It was shared with our friends the Lewiss.
Pages 1 and 2 show the local surroundings in black and white and Pages 3 and 4 cover days at nearby tourist spots in colour. The latter were taken on Kodak Ektachrome slide film with a
Paxette 35mm
camera and several have faded and in a few cases mildewed.
Dymchurch is a small seaside town dominated by its sea wall and Martello
Towers, at least it was in 1960. The area shown here looks far busier and built up now.
