Conker Collecting
Queen’s Avenue, Aldershot
Despite having a horse chestnut tree in our own garden, each Autumn we had to go armed with carrier bags to the Queen’s Avenue in Aldershot
which was lined with conker trees. As you can see on the right it could sometimes be a struggle to extract them from their cases.
Anything less than enough to supply the whole street was insufficient.
And here is our own conker tree from which hangs a noose
should any bad men escape the sheriff’s bullet.
