Tiny Tots - 1976
December 1975 saw a move to a new house with mud for a garden. Heres Iain with a new friend.
The Young Wives Group carnival float. Mum waves as she goes by.
The main carnival was held on a Wednesday evening but a separate
Childrens Carnival took place on the preceding Saturday.
This is Iains only known interest in gardening - Grandads garden of course.
The end of Grandads garden was filled with tall pine trees. With the aid of a winch and a chain saw we removed most of them.
Meanwhile we had a tree problem of our own.
Iain learned to ride a two wheeler at the age of three, he didnt learn to get off until some while later which could be a problem at times.
This picture also shows one of five beech trees (not to mention the lime and several pine) in the garden which later proved to be the scene of a battleground
with Hart council. It was widely regarded as being corrupt at the time and once again they tried to act outside the law to have their say over our
trees. They got more than they bargained for, just as they did when they started to invent their own version of The Town and Country Planning Act three or four years earlier.
All the negatives from 1976 have a nasty yellow stain on them, as do a few from other years. This has proved very difficult to remove as you can see.
